About us
A former advertising copywriter, Sheila McCallum began her fundraising career at Downes Murray International, under the mentorship of fundraising 'guru' Terry Murray.
She thrived in the direct response environment, where you quickly learn what works and what doesn't, simply by measuring results.
After more than ten years as creative director of DMI, Sheila moved into the digital space; she built her first website in 2003 and left the company to pursue her passion for digital fundraising in 2008. She thrives in the rapidly changing digital space and embraces evolving technologies with enthusiasm.
Although the company remains small, Fundraising Online makes use of specialist freelance developers to provide clients with a complete service. All work is personally overseen by Sheila, who also continues to write fundraising copy for a number of non-profit clients. She believes that while the digital world offers a multitude of technical advantages, the real tools of the trade will always be words.
